Description

This Crockpot Chicken & Gravy recipe is an easy, comforting slow cooker classic made with tender chicken breasts smothered in a rich, creamy gravy. Perfect for weeknights or cozy family dinners, it pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits.

For the Chicken & Gravy

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 1 packet chicken gravy mix

  • 1 packet ranch dressing seasoning

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup

  • ½ cup water

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional Enhancements

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  • Make the Gravy Base
    In a mixing bowl, whisk together the chicken gravy mix, ranch seasoning, cream of chicken soup, and water until well blended and smooth.

  • Add the Chicken
    Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your Crockpot. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and optional garlic or onion powder.

  • Pour and Cover
    Pour the prepared gravy mixture over the chicken. Add a pat of butter on top if using. Cover with the lid.

  • Slow Cook
    Cook on LOW for 6 hours or on HIGH for 4 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and easily shreddable.

  • Shred and Stir
    Using two forks, shred the chicken directly in the Crockpot. Stir it into the gravy until everything is well coated.

  • Serve and Enjoy
    Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, egg noodles, or biscuits. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Use a Crockpot liner for easy cleanup. For a thicker gravy, stir in a cornstarch slurry during the last 10 minutes of cooking. Add frozen peas or mushrooms for extra flavor and texture. This dish freezes well for up to 3 months.
