Instructions
-
Prepare the Cheesecake Filling
In a bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Gently fold in the diced strawberries. -
Assemble the Sandwiches
Spread the filling onto 4 slices of bread. Top with remaining slices to form sandwiches. Press edges to seal. -
Make the Egg Mixture
In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, and sugar. -
Dip the Sandwiches
Carefully dip each sandwich in the egg mixture, coating both sides. -
Fry the Sandwiches
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry sandwiches for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden and crispy. -
Serve
Drain on paper towels, then dust with powdered sugar. Top with whipped cream or extra strawberries if desired.
Notes
Use room temperature cream cheese for easy mixing. Pressing the edges of the bread helps keep the filling sealed during frying. These sandwiches taste best freshly made but can be reheated in a toaster oven.
