  • Author: Hannah
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 68 servings 1x

Description

A rich and creamy crab dip inspired by Joe’s Crab Shack, made with real lump crab meat, cream cheese, shredded cheeses, and zesty seasoning—perfect for dipping with chips, crackers, or veggies.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crab Dip

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 8 oz lump crab meat, drained and checked for shells

  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)

Optional Toppings & Dippers

  • Extra shredded cheese for topping

  • Sliced green onions

  • Chopped parsley

  • Tortilla chips, crackers, toasted baguette slices

  • Celery sticks, cucumber slices, bell pepper strips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a small baking dish.

  • Mix the creamy base
In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Stir until smooth.

  • Add seasonings and cheese
Mix in cheddar, Monterey Jack, lemon juice, Worcestershire, Old Bay, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

  • Fold in the crab
Gently fold in the lump crab meat and green onions without breaking the crab too much.

  • Assemble the dip
Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top. Sprinkle Parmesan and extra cheese if desired.

  • Bake the dip
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until hot, bubbly, and slightly golden on top.

  • Garnish and serve
Let cool for a few minutes. Top with more green onions or parsley and serve warm with your favorite dippers.

Notes

You can prepare this dip in advance and refrigerate it until you’re ready to bake. For extra flavor, try mixing in a dash of hot sauce or chopped jalapeños. To keep it warm at parties, transfer to a small slow cooker on the “warm” setting.
