Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) lean ground beef
- 1/4 cup (60ml) whole milk
- 1/2 cup (60g) panko breadcrumbs
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp (5g) garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
- 1/4 tsp (1g) black pepper
- 1/2 cup (120ml) bourbon
- 1/2 cup (120ml) low-sodium ketchup
- 1/4 cup (80ml) honey
- 2 tbsp (30ml) apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp (15g) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp (5g) smoked paprika
Instructions:
- Combine the lean ground beef, milk, panko, egg, and seasonings in a bowl. Mix gently by hand until just incorporated.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch spheres.
- Brown the meatballs in a skillet over medium-high heat until a dark crust forms on all sides.
- Whisk the bourbon, low-sodium ketchup, honey, vinegar, Worcestershire, and paprika in a separate bowl until smooth.
- Pour the glaze mixture over the meatballs in the slow cooker.
- Cook on Low for 2 hours (or simmer on the stove for 30 minutes) until the sauce has reduced into a thick, sticky coating that clings to the meat.
