Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs chicken breast, sliced into 1/4-inch strips
  • 4 cups broccoli florets, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (for marinade)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (for sauce)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the chicken: Slice the chicken breast into 1/4-inch thick strips. In a medium bowl, toss the chicken with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the broccoli: Cut the broccoli florets into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Cook the chicken: Heat a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken in a single layer and sear for 2 minutes without moving, then toss and cook for another 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  4. Stir-fry the broccoli: Add the broccoli florets to the hot pan. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they start to become tender-crisp. If needed, add a splash of water and cover for 30-60 seconds to steam-fry.
  5. Add the sauce: Pour the 1/4 cup of soy sauce into the pan with the broccoli. Bring to a simmer and cook for 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and coat the broccoli.
  6. Combine and serve: Return the cooked chicken to the pan with the broccoli and sauce. Toss everything together for about 1 minute until the chicken is heated through and well coated with the sauce. Serve immediately.
