Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (150g) packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 2 tsp (10ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
  • 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch pan and line it with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Whisk in the egg and vanilla extract until the mixture looks glossy and combined.
  3. Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Using a spatula, fold the ingredients together just until no streaks of flour remain. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan using the back of a spatula. Bake for 22–25 minutes until edges are golden-brown and the center is set but slightly underbaked.
