Ingredients:
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon (12g) baking powder
- 1 tablespoon (12g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon (6g) salt
- 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
- 4 tablespoons (57g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 2 tablespoons (28g) melted butter
- 1 pinch (1g) flaky sea salt
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until no large clumps remain.
- Pour in the whole milk and the melted butter. Stir with a spoon or spatula just until the flour streaks disappear; the batter should be thick and slightly lumpy.
- Using a scoop or large spoon, drop rounded mounds of dough (about 2 tablespoons each) onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart. Bake for 12–15 minutes until the tops are deep mahogany gold.
- Remove from the oven and immediately brush the tops with the remaining melted butter. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired.
