Ingredients:

  • 1 pack (12 count) Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 12 oz deli turkey breast, thinly sliced
  • 12 slices crispy cooked bacon
  • 1 medium Roma tomato, thinly sliced
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed
  • 1 cup shredded sharp white cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Instructions:

  1. Slice the entire slab of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Note: Use a serrated knife to avoid squishing the bread.
  2. Place the bottom half in a 9x13 inch baking pan. Layer the deli turkey evenly across the bread, followed by the Swiss cheese slices and the crispy bacon. Top with thin tomato rounds.
  3. Melt 2 tbsp butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute until bubbly but not browned.
  4. Gradually whisk in warmed milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and becomes glossy.
  5. Remove from heat and fold in the shredded cheddar and nutmeg until the sauce is smooth. For more on cheese melting, see [The Kitchn](https://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-melt-cheese-234342).
  6. Spoon the Mornay sauce generously over the tomato layer, spreading it to the edges.
  7. Place the top bun slab back on.
  8. In a small bowl, mix 3 tbsp melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic. Brush this glaze over the tops of the rolls.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and the tops are a deep golden brown.
  10. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
