Ingredients:

  • 1 box (15.25 oz / 432g) White Cake Mix
  • 1 cup (240ml) Water
  • ½ cup (115g) Vegetable Oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85g) Fruit-flavored Gelatin
  • 1 cup (240ml) Boiling Water
  • 1 container (8 oz / 225g) Whipped Topping
  • Fresh berries for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven according to cake mix instructions and mix cake ingredients until smooth.
  2. Pour the batter into a 9x13 inch baking pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  3. While the cake is still warm, use a wooden skewer or chopstick to poke holes every ½ inch across the entire surface, ensuring they reach nearly the bottom.
  4. Whisk the gelatin powder into boiling water until completely dissolved.
  5. Slowly pour the dissolved gelatin over the cake, ensuring the syrup fills every hole.
  6. Allow the cake to sit at room temperature for 15 minutes, then refrigerate for 4 hours until the gelatin is set.
  7. Spread the thawed whipped topping evenly across the top of the chilled cake.
  8. Garnish with fresh berries before serving.
