Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup filtered water
  • 3 tbsp coarsely ground coffee
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1/4 cup half-and-half
  • 1 tbsp simple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Brew the coffee concentrate using double the amount of grounds relative to water. If using a saucepan, simmer the grounds in water for 4 minutes, then strain.
  2. While the coffee concentrate is still hot, stir in the simple syrup and vanilla extract until fully dissolved.
  3. Allow the mixture to sit for 2 minutes to decrease in temperature slightly.
  4. Fill a tall glass to the brim with ice cubes.
  5. Pour the hot coffee concentrate directly over the ice.
  6. Top the drink with half-and-half and stir gently until chilled.
