Ingredients:
- 3 cups (375g) unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1.5 cups (355ml) warm water
- 1.5 tsp (9g) fine sea salt
- 0.5 tsp (2g) active dry yeast
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and yeast.
- Pour in the warm water and stir with a wooden spoon until a shaggy, sticky ball forms and no dry flour remains.
- Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap or a damp kitchen towel and let the dough rest at room temperature for 3 hours until it has doubled in size.
- Place an empty Dutch oven with its lid into the oven and preheat to 450°F (232°C).
- Turn the risen dough onto a piece of parchment paper, gently shaping it into a rough ball.
- Carefully lift the parchment and drop the dough into the preheated Dutch oven.
- Cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid and bake for an additional 12–15 minutes until the crust is deep golden brown and the bottom sounds hollow when tapped.
