Ingredients:

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) white cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 package (3 oz) strawberry gelatin dessert
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. Mix the white cake mix, eggs, oil, and water until the batter is smooth and no lumps remain.
  3. Pour the batter into the pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  4. While the cake is still warm, use a skewer or chopstick to poke holes every 1/2 inch across the entire surface.
  5. Dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water, stir in the cold water, and slowly pour the liquid over the cake, ensuring it fills the holes.
  6. Place the cake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight until the gelatin is completely firm.
  7. Spread the thawed whipped topping in a smooth layer across the top and garnish with sliced fresh strawberries before serving.
