Ingredients:
- 1 box (15.25 oz) white cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 package (3 oz) strawberry gelatin dessert
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Mix the white cake mix, eggs, oil, and water until the batter is smooth and no lumps remain.
- Pour the batter into the pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is still warm, use a skewer or chopstick to poke holes every 1/2 inch across the entire surface.
- Dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water, stir in the cold water, and slowly pour the liquid over the cake, ensuring it fills the holes.
- Place the cake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight until the gelatin is completely firm.
- Spread the thawed whipped topping in a smooth layer across the top and garnish with sliced fresh strawberries before serving.
