Description

Rice Krispie Easter Eggs are a fun, no-bake Easter treat made with marshmallows, butter, and crispy rice cereal. These colorful, egg-shaped delights are easy to customize with food coloring, sprinkles, and chocolate drizzle, making them perfect for holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • Food coloring (assorted pastel colors)
  • Cooking spray (for hands and mold)
  • Sprinkles, melted chocolate, or candies for decoration (optional)

Instructions

  • Melt the Butter & Marshmallows – In a large saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Add mini marshmallows and stir continuously until smooth.
  • Add Color & Cereal – Remove from heat and divide the mixture into separate bowls if using multiple colors. Stir in food coloring, then fold in Rice Krispies cereal until fully coated.
  • Shape into Eggs – Lightly grease hands or egg-shaped molds with cooking spray. Take portions of the mixture and form them into egg shapes. Place on parchment paper to set.
  • Decorate & Set – Drizzle with melted chocolate, add sprinkles, or press in small candies. Let set at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Work quickly while shaping the eggs to prevent the mixture from hardening.

Grease hands or molds with cooking spray to avoid sticking.

Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

Freeze for up to 3 months and thaw before serving.

For a chocolate twist, mix in mini chocolate chips before shaping.
