Description
Crispy chicken bites coated in a sticky honey pepper glaze that’s both sweet and spicy. This quick and satisfying dish brings bold flavor to your table with every bite.
Ingredients
For the Chicken

1½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

½ cup cornstarch

½ cup all-purpose flour

2 eggs, beaten

Salt and pepper to taste

Vegetable oil for frying
For the Honey Pepper Sauce

½ cup honey
-
¼ cup soy sauce
-
2 tablespoons rice vinegar (or white vinegar)

2 tablespoons ketchup

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

1 teaspoon black pepper

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)
Instructions

Prepare the Chicken
Season chicken with salt and pepper. In one bowl, mix cornstarch and flour. In another, beat the eggs. -
Coat the Chicken
Dip chicken pieces into the beaten eggs, then dredge in the flour-cornstarch mix to coat thoroughly. -
Fry Until Crispy
Heat oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry the chicken in batches until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels. -
Make the Sauce
In a pan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and garlic. Stir and simmer. -
Thicken the Sauce
Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce is thickened and glossy. -
Toss and Serve
Add fried chicken to the sauce and toss until well-coated. Serve hot with rice or veggies.
Notes
Double-frying the chicken can make it even crispier. Adjust red pepper flakes to control heat. The sauce can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 5 days.
